I am going to Battle on Iron Chef!!!!

October 2, 2006 on 9:27 am | In Press | Comments

This Friday, October 6th, I’ll be in NY to tape Iron Chef America. What will the secret ingredient be? I can only hope for battle offal!! This is going to be a lot of fun. It is something I have wanted to do since the first time I saw the original Japanese show.

It will air sometime in 2007, so keep your eyes peeled for Cosentino v. Batali because it should be a killer battle. I mean, come on, 1 hour to do 5 dishes. This is no bullshit– this is straight up hard work, that’s why its called Iron Chef America. I am going to cook my ass off!!

Whoa. Battle Offal with you and Mario would be great to see. One can only dream.

BTW: I made Trippa alla Romana, based on Marios recipe, last week and it came out fantastic. I used roma tomatoes from the last good harvest out of my garden and some nice honeycomb tripe from the local Mexican grocery. Two weeks ago I cooked and ate my first sweetbreads.

Very nice, I’m hooked………….it was, well, Offal Good.
